I do not want the first word of a sentence to automatically capitalize. In
Word under AutoCorrect settings, I de-selected the checkbox for capitalizing
the fist word of a sentence. I then went into Outlook (2003) and changed a
few settings under Tools, Options, Mail Format. While the auto
capitalization doesn't work in Word, it still works when composing e-mail
messages.
I have played with the Outlook, Tools, Options, Mail Format settings and
have found that:
If I change "compose message in this format" from HTML to Outlook Rich Text
and do not check the two boxes underneath (use MS Office Word 2003 to edit
e-mail messages and use MS Office Word 2003 to read rich text messages), auto
correct does not correct the capitalization; however, our company logo in the
signature block is not displayed.
If I keep “compose message in this format†as HTML (which is what it was set
at originally) and do not check the two boxes underneath, the auto correct
feature does not correct the capitalization, our company logo displays in the
signature block; however, the signature block is double-spaced. <---Not
acceptable.
If I keep “compose message in this format†as HTML (which is what it was set
at originally) and check either or both boxes underneath, the signature block
is OK but auto correct capitalizes the first word of the sentence.
If I do not use a signature and compose a message in HTML or Rich Text
format and do not have the two boxed underneath checked, then the first word
of each sentence is NOT automatically capitalized. <---This is what I want,
but I also need it to work with a signature block.
If I do not use a signature and compose a message in either HTML or Rich
Text but check either one or both boxes underneath, the program capitalizes
the first word.
I have searched this newsgroup and saw replies that the people should let
the text word wrap and not use a hard carriage return. However, the
suggestions did not include e-mails with an automatic signature block in it.
How can I get the first letter of each sentence to NOT automatically
capitalize when creating e-mail with an automatic signature block? At this
point, I am open to all suggestions.
