Caplock indicator

In my memory bank somewhere I think I recall an indicator on the status
bar that indicated that the caplock key was on. I have a new, wireless
keyboard and there's no light to let me know caps are on, nor one for
numlock. I think it's to conserve the batteries.

Perhaps it was a Windows thing. I've been hunting around to see what I
can find.

It used to be in Word (still is in Excel), and I for one miss it (my Caps
Lock light is covered up by a mouse platform). I think MS just filled up the
status bar with so much other stuff they figured there was no room for this
and no one would miss it (but I do).

I miss it now, too. Since my keyboard doesn't have lights on it and
that's what I usually checked. I'm glad that I wasn't imagining that
there was an indicator anyway. Seems like there's still enough room for
it, though. Maybe an mswish?

I found out in the accessibility section you can fix the numlock, caps
lock and scroll lock keys to play a sound when they're toggled. High
pitched for turning on and lower pitched for turning off. Also, you can
hold down the numlock key for 5 seconds to turn off the sounds or to
turn them back on. A dialog comes up when you turn them back on.

Yes. When you select Status Bar, it shows where the indicators are
supposed to be.
