Hi Alan,

In the Control panel the Accessibility setting for
Keyboard=>'Toggle keys' provides sounds for the three 'locks' (Caps Lock, Scroll lock and Num lock).

Hello Mr Buckland,
It may be my stupidity, but I have set the Toggle keys in Accessibility
Options
and I do not get a sound for Caps Lock. I received the message that pressing
Num Lock for more than 5 secs should be a short cut, but still no sound. I
hope I haven't misunderstood you.

Hi Alan,

Normally the 'beeps' for the lock keys play through the internal speaker in the computer rather than the desktop speakers so it may
not be very loud, depnding on where you have the CPU placed.

There are 3rd party utilities that allow you to use your PC speakers
http://cfisoft.com/relocate.asp?page=products/lockdown/index.asp
for example, but that one may not work correctly with Windows XP.

Thanks again. I will try the 3rd party utility you gave me.
