Caption includes a page break

Recently I've had an issue appear in Word 2003. If I insert a page break
before a caption, the page break becomes part of the caption, therefore when
I do a cross-reference to the caption, it actually inserts the page break.
Leaving my sentance unfinished and the caption and remaining paragraph on a
new page. This has only begun happening in the past 2-3 months. Was never an
issue with any of the other docuements I completed before.

Help!!!!!

Instead of inserting a manual page break, select your caption and do:

Format > Paragraph... > "Line and Page Breaks" tab > Check "Page break
before".

I very rarely use manual page breaks because they cause all kinds of
problems with formatting.
I added the "Page Break Before" tool to my toolbar and use that instead.

Well, you were right Jean, but what a pain.....
Formatting a 450 page document is bad enough with out having to manually
change the paragraph format on any captions that fall at the top of the page.
As bad as I hate to admit it, the old tried and true method of just using
paragraph returns would be easier mess with when the pagination changes.
But thanks for the idea.
