caption label in text box

when tring to typr a caption for a figure the text box alread has the word
figure in it except that it is on te right side of the box and I can not get
it on the left side

To get it on the left side, try right-click then format. On the lay-out tab,
select the Horizontal Alignment to "Left". See if it helps.
