Captions for photos

I'm creating a newsletter using Word 2000 and have several embedded photos.
I'd like to attach captions to the photos in a way that allows me to move
the photo and caption around as a single graphic element and doesn't get the
caption confused with the surrounding text. Is there a way to do that?

Use a text box for the label. Position it by the photograph. Select both the
photograph and the text box and click on Group to make them into one group.
You will then be able to move them around as a single graphic element. For
this to work you will need to make sure that your photograph is 'floating'
not in-line (format / object / layout / square).

Mark-

Thank you! Now is there a way to eliminate the border on the text box so
that it looks like a normal caption below the photo?

Right click on the border of the text box and choose Format Textbox.
On the 'colors and lines' tab, change the line colour to 'No line'.
This will get rid of the visible black border.

I also like to go to the 'Text box' tab and reduce all the internal margins
to zero.

I hope this helps.

Does this work with drawings? I've created an autoshape (a rounded
box) and put text "in" it (i.e. really "over" it), and want to copy
them both together, but I don't seem to be able to manage it.
