Captions move to new page

Whenever I add a figure to a document and add a caption, if there are any
formatting changes the figure suddenly moves to a new page. The figure can
be moved back again, but not the caption. Creating a new caption makes the
graphic move to the next page, despite plenty of room left on the page.

This is insane behavior, and it's consistent across Word 2000, 2003 and
2007. What is wrong? Any help gratefully received.

It sounds like you need to text wrap? Right click on the graphic and choose
format>layout. Then choose "square" or behind text" and see if that fixes it.
