Capturing drop down menus

Is there a way to retain the activated drop down menus in
Office XP applications while activating the capture
program?
For instance, in Word I want to capture the "Format" menu
and the submenu "Backgound", but the display disappears
when I active the capture program.
I want to include these graphics in computer courses I am
writing.

Try pressing "Print Screen", it worked for me... Paste it into Paint and crop off the
parts you don't need.
What capture program are you using?
