Cash flow over a project

I can develop an 18 month project with a couple of hundred steps, link the steps, and assign a cost to each step. How can I get the weekly (or monthly) cash flow, or better yet, the cummulative cash flow information back out?

Try the following for a weekly cash flow report:

1. Open the project in question
2. Click View - Reports
3. Double-click the Costs icon
4. Double-click the Cash Flow report to see a weekly cash flow on your
project

If you want a monthly Cash Flow report as well, do the following:

1. Open the project in question
2. Click View - Reports
3. Double-click the Custom icon
4. Select the Cash Flow report and click Copy...
5. Name the new report "Monthly Cash Flow"
6. Change the Column value to Months
7. Click OK
8. Select the Monthly Cash Flow report and click Preview

If you like the new custom report, copy it to your Global.mpt file using
Tools - Organizer - Reports for use with all present and future projects.
Hope this helps.

Dale,

Thanks for the help. I really lost connection to my brain overlooking the reports feature. That gets me 1/2 the way there.

I find myself externally motivated to come up with a set of cash flow projections for each of the several summary tasks that make up a project, and a graph of cummulative spending vs. time for the duration of the project. Now that I can see and print the report I can generate the information by hand. Do you (or anyone) know of a way to export the information? I do't see either feature in MS Project nor do I see a way to export the cross tab data into a format that I can bring into Excel.

Thanks again,

Dale

Is the "Analyse Timescaled Data in Excel" button on the "Analysis"
Toolbar of use for this?

Close enough.

I really appreciate the wealth of knowledge in this discussion group.
