Catching Spam with Rules

I have gone a long way in automatically sending spam to the junk box buy
using rules.

I have one type of SPAM that I can't get rid of though. The spam mostly
comes describing financial investments. The email address is constantly
changing so rules based on that are ineffective.

The body usuallyh has a image that decribes the investment. In addition
there is text that is gibberish but all validly spelled english words.
Mostly sentences.


Has anyone developed a rule strategy to deal with this type of Spam.

Yes, I use a third party tool called SpamBayes - works quite well. Free from sourceforge.net.

I set up a rule that deletes all messages that are not from my Contacts.

I get the same type of emails plasmoo is discribing, and I use
spambayes with out good results on THIS type of emails (usually
stocks as 'runners' or something,) and most of the 'text' is actually
an embedded image
just my $.02 worth!

Don't you use those messages to train SpamBayes?
