I am trying to set up a category in such a way as to allow users to see
projects, but limit them to projects they manage, have tasks in Etc. It
appears, according to the documentation (which is clear as mud) that the
only way to do this is to check the "Only the projects indicated below"
check box, copy all of the existing projects over, and then appropriately
limit the access using the check boxes below below the project boxes. Of
course, in doing so I've created an administrative nightmare as new projects
are added.
This approach seems backwards to me. In my mind it seems as if I should be
able to set "All current and future......" to set a universal domain of
projects and then limit access by the check boxes below. However, the check
boxes below are grayed out if I take this approach. Is this a feature and
function dreamed up by some MS developer with a brain cramp? Or am I
totally off base here and will have to live with the administrative
nightmare of changing the category every time a project is added?
Any help here will be greatly appreciated.
