My company is trying to figure out a way to report on profitability per
product type (in our case our products are services in 4 very specific topic
areas). Currently we offer 4 product types, all of which may have various
tasks associated with that product within a single, up to year-long project.
We use Project Professional 2003.
What I'm trying to do is find out a way to categorize each task within a
project as belonging to one of the four specific product types.
Then, I want to be able to set up a Porfolio Analyzer view so that I can see
projects and the breakdown of the Product types we're working on within that
project. This is so our controller can export to excel and analyze each
project's profitability down to the product level, and also get an overall
overview of how profitable each product type is across all projects.
Does this make sense?
Any ideas?
