cause and effect diagram

I am new to this site please bare with me. I downloaded a template from what
i thought was Microsoft website but it had file extension .vst. this template
was for a cause/effect diagram. I followed all the instructions on the
website for downloading and extracting. I tried to extract it to the
microsoft word file then open it. However it (microsoft word or my computer I
dont really know!!!!!) couldn't read it. now im extremely frustrated and
ready to break something b/c i thought i followed all the instructions. did i
miss something?

..vst are templates meant to be opened in Visio, you can then copy them to
Word.
