I am using PP 2002. I want to insert a picture or graphic into a blank
slide (no place holders) and cause it to fill the slide to the edges. I can
do this by dragging the horizontal and vertical edges but I would like to
know if there is a command to do this.

David

Pay no attention to that Reilly critter. He wrote half of a nice little
addin to do just what you want and has forgotten about it already, it seems.
;-)

http://get.pptools.com has a free PPTools Starter Set that includes a button
that'll pick up your slide size and remember it, and another button that'll
"hammer" any selected shape (ie, your pictures) to that size.

Steve,
I wrote the front end to that add in to deal with images. You wrote
the slide size critter but I never read it since you never commented
the code (g). Hey wait, this is about an object and not a slide size
so I wouldn't have to read your code, not that many people could ever
understand it anyway without comments (rofl).

Best read the code again, sir.

It picks up object sizes or, if no object is selected, the slide size.

Handy, that. ;-)

Colleen,

This is exactly what I wanted. Thanks very much.

David,

Glad I could help. You can fill not only backgrounds with pictures, but
objects, chart elements, etc. as well.

hehe. While Steve and Brian are off arguing code, Colleen steps in to

Thanks, Colleen.

Echo,

You're welcome. I never know when it is OK to offer answers to questions,
so I usually wait until the post is up for a full day, then put in my 2
cents.

I love the PPT tools starter set. I used to have to memorize or write down
an object's size and position, then apply those settings to new graphics.
Now, with the add-in the process is so much easier.

Another solution, David, would be to fill the background of the slide with a
picture. Background>Fill Effects>Picture. Be sure to check the box to lock
the picture aspect ratio.

Oh, don't feel as if you should wait, Colleen. It's always okay to post
here!

That's one thing about this group, you'll never see a reply from an MVP or
regular that says: "You *^%@& communist weenie, just shut the trap and go
away." Nope, it's a kinder, and gentler group. They might throw fish at you,
or make you handle the money-back guarantee out of your own-pocket. But
that's it. BTDT. :)

Happy Friday, everybody.
