The Spanish spelling checker in Office 2004, at least as invoked from within
Entourage 2004, is a disgrace. It flags many correctly spelled words and
suggests blatant spelling errors instead.

Thank God for SpellCatcher.

Hi Ramon,

Can you give me a list of the words that were incorrectly flagged?

Thanks,
Mira

Mira,

That was almost a month ago! If you had asked maybe within one month, I
would still have them fresh in my mind.

I'll try to see what messages I checked in Spanish from within Entourage at
around that time. I've been using SpellCatcher ever since.

Incidentally, I received two email messages from you with no text in either
of them, only my own quoted message.

Just remembered one: Ojalá is flagged as incorrect and the grossly
misspelled "Ojala" (missing accent) is suggested by the spelling checker.
That's pretty basic.

It makes no difference whether Ojalá is capitalized because it's the
beginning of a sentence or not; ojalá also gets flagged as wrong and «ojala»
offered as a suggestion.

There were many, many more.

As I said, I just gave up on the MS Office 2004 spelling checker.

Ooops! Meant to type "If you had asked maybe within one WEEK", not one
month.
