help me soon please!!!

i had to format my computer and when i started to intall
office 97, it asked for my 11 digit cd key.. i obviously
have thrown that out years ago. anyone have the key??

I do not think that anyone will have your key as it would have been unique
to you. So the answer is no.

Why is that obvious? It should be obvious that if the key is needed to
install Office, it is a precious thing that needs to be saved.

As far as I know, even for Word97 the key was 25 digits.

retail purchase of Word --contact Microsoft

preinstalled on your PC -- contact the manufacturer of your pc

I always write the key in indelible marker on the back of
the CD. As long as I have the CD I have the key. The
first time you entered the key you were advised on screen
to save it. Discarding it is far from obvious. I know
it's no help now, but could be in the future. Good luck
with the other suggestions, which could provide some help.

Call Microsoft. A couple of months ago, my son bought a
used computer complete with installation disks. It seemed
reasonable to reformat the HD because it had so many desktop
icons for deleted programs... but after reformatting he
found out the product key was missing (what he thought was
the product key - wasn't) and yes - Microsoft helped him
out.
