Ceedo question to Rainald

Rainaled,

I would like to ask a question (I hope it is ok that I refer to your name
directly).

Ok it is a nice weekend to try your recommend Ceedo with Argo to run ON on
any computer.
My question is: Ok we will not need ON be installed on any machine (on which
we will work with ON from a usb disc) but will we need ceedo be installed on
a machine?

When I installed ceedo on my computer hard drive, a toolbar appeared. From
this toolbar you can run applications.
But now I have the impression that I will ne to install ceedo to any other
computer on which I would like to run ON on.

What do you think on this?

P.S: I will try ceedo, argo, and ON today. I am very curious about what is
going to happen.

Allright I installed Ceedo, with automatically came with Argo.
Now several issues appear:

1. Now I have ceedo on the usb stick and ceedo installed ON on the usb
stick.
Is it ok if I keep my ON notebook files in another folder (other than the
default folder ON assigns) on the same usb stick?

2. My primary aim to install ON on the USB stick was to get rid of the sync
issues. So I will bring my usb and plug it in my office computer, which does
not have ON installed, and I will run ON as a program from the USB stick.
That is great. So from now on I will not need to sync between computers
because ON will be residing on the usb stick and therefore it will be like I
am carrying a computer with me with ON installed.

My question is this: I still have ON installed on my home computer. I have
my notebooks on my usb. I also have ON installed on the USB.
If I work with the USB stick unplugged on my home computer, then if I plug
it, ON will sync as before. But for some reason would this create any
confusion for ON?
Would there be any sync issues as I had before?
(there is an exogenous reason for why I want to work the stick unplugged on
my home computer but don't ask it now.)

Ok you can ignore this question. Ceedo does not install itself to a computer
but only to the usb stick and it works on any other computer from the USB
stick it is installed.

Hi minimus,
Sorry, I gave myself a "computer-free day" yesterday <g>.
Ok you can ignore this question. Ceedo does not install itself to a

Right. That's what Ceedo has been created for.
and it works on any other computer
from the USB stick it is installed.

Yes!

And when an application - f.e. IE or ON - is installed on the computer
the app will be run from there.

AFAICS you got ON going from the stick.
How about the performance?

I did not have a real performance issue. Only the first start is a bit slow
but while working things are fine.

Hi,
I tried desperately to get OneNote in a mobile version because in my
eyes the program doesn't make much sense if you can't have it with you
all the time. At least for me. So I was really happy when I learned
about Ceedo here. I tried it and it works quite well. The performance is
ok but maybe I will have to get a faster USB device.
But there is one thing that is not working and I hope that someone can
help me, I didn't find an answer somewhere else.
When I use OneNote on a computer somewhere there is no Send to OneNote
Printer in any program. This kind of makes sense as OneNote isn't
installed on the computer. So I thought that I could insert documents
into the notebook with Insert->Files. But when I insert a file that way,
I'm not able to open the file afterwards. Is there a trick how I could
insert files into OneNote? It's quite important for me. I tried all the
tricks people posted in here, like running Diagnostics or installing a
new printer but nothing worked for me.
Thank you for your comments!

It sounds strange but perhaps there is a connection.

I'm sorry, but had troubles with my stick (nothing connected with IN)
and had to reformat it. And as the install is a lengthy procedure
procedure and I want to get a new really fast stick I did not re-install
IN and therefore cannot test things in the moment.

Pleas stay tuned. I'll report my findings as soon as I have the new
stick and can test things again.
