Celeron, USB and Office 2003

Dana

Both myself and my boss have had separate issues with our
USB devices not working after Office 2003 is installed on
a celeron machine. Anything that was installed and
connected before the upgrade works fine, but anything new
you want to add or a device that wasn't "on" at that time
will not work. I've tried a bazillion different ways to
try to get my digital camera to be recognized and it will
register in the device manager, but still isn't seen
anywhere else.

Our PIII and P4 machines at home both handled 2003 with
no problems with USB at all.

Anyone hear anything like that? if so, how did you get
it to work?
Thanks!
Dana

Both you and Dana might want to search a Windows news group for hardware to
see if this has been reported anywhere else and if there is a driver update
or other workaround for the issue.

| Dana,
| We had the same issue, but only on 2 Dell notebooks. We simply
| uninstalled our product software ie: mouse, camera, etc...then
| reinstalled. The only issue now is that if they are plugged into a
| different port than the one they were in at time of install, they are
| not recognized. Strange.... Glad to see I was not the only person
| with this issue. I was waiting for someone to ask this question,
| since it had not been ask before, that I know of.

I've tried reinstalling and it still won't work. I was
trying to use my USB keychain drive and it won't even
recognize that! And that doesn't have drivers. I was
trying to get my digicam to work and that's a lost
cause. I almost threw the thing through a window.

One problem i've noticed is that if you unplugged the
device, it won't work again. That's a huge issue cuz I
want to use my USB disk or my digital camera and i can't
leave them connected to my system.
