cell/column format issue

I cannot get one column of my excel doc to accept the number I put in. It puts in some random number I don't understand. The rest of the columns will allow me to put in whatever I please. I have removed all protections, the conditional formatting is the same for the other columns as the problematic one. I have tried deleting the problem column and creating a new one. No luck.

Thanks Shari7

Can you provide a very specific example? What is the number you key in? What
is the number that get in the cell instead? Exactly what do you key? Which
key do you press to enter the number?
