Cell cursor color

Hi, I am using a new Macbook with Excel 08 (whatever the newest version for mac is.. I think its 08). I am concerned because I am using excel all the time and like many other people I can not see the highlight on the cell I am working on. I have read many responses about System Preferences-Appearances-highlight color, and have tried this. it does not work for me because I need to make it dark to see the cell in Excel and then it makes all the highlighting too dark on the rest of the computer. Isn't there anything else I can try?

Unfortunately, No. You're not the only one who finds the selector color to
be objectionable, but you have to let MS know. Use Help> Send Feedback to
add your remarks on the issue to the data that MacBU reviews. I doubt we'll
see any change in the 2008 product but perhaps the next major release will
include improvements/alternatives if enough demand is voiced.
