Cell Formatting

I have saved a worksheet sent via email and I am not able
to change the format of the cells. When I try the data
remains the same. This is also stopping me from using
functions. Can anyone tell me how I can resolve this please

Check if the format of the cells is set to Text. If so,
change it to General.

If the cell was pre-formatted as text or you imported the numbers as text all
the re-formatting you do will not change it to numbers.

If you have many of these, copy an empty cell. Select your range then Paste
Special>Add>OK>Esc.

This step will turn them into real numbers.
