Cell link inbetween Asterisks

I'm looking for a way to format one cell to represent the contents of another
(link) BUT add Asterisk's to the outside of the contents of the linked cell.
Example: One cell represents " TRKE-000123 ". I need just the
TRKE-000123 to be represented in another cell surrounded by asterisks
(readable bar code. (when correct bar code font is applied)). EXAMPLE: I need
one cell to read TRKE-000123 and another to read only *TRKE-000123*
. Any suggestions?

="*"&B5&"*"

replace b5 with the cell that has the TRKE-000123
