I have a spreadsheet and I'm trying to do something which I can't figure
out. The spreadsheet has various bits of data, but only some of it
needs to be changed. Is there something that I can set up that if
pressing something like Tab it jumps to the next cell that is supposed
to have inputted data in. Am I making any sense. I know what I want
to do but its hard to write about it!

protect all of the cells except the ones that need data input, and you will
be able to move quickly through the sheet

On every data input cell... right click FORMAT CELLS...|PROTECTION TAB
uncheck locked

Then go to:
TOOLS|PROTECTION|PROTECT SHEET

You could protect all cells except the ones you want your users to type in..
Assume you would want them to use A2, B5 and D8.
Press ctrl and select the cells one after another. Now do
format>cells>protection and uncheck
locked. Then do tools>protection, protect sheet. If you have later version
of excel you'll get
some options like Allow users of this worksheet to: Select locked cells
(uncheck that),
select unlocked cells (check that). Click OK..
Now use enter or tab to navigate between these 3 cells
