By default, all cells are locked. Locking cells has no effect unless the
sheet is protected.
(1) Select all cells, i.e., click the diamond-shaped icon in the upper left
of the worksheet.
(2) Choose Format | Cells | Protection, and clear the Locked check box. OK.
(If the Cells item on the Format menu is dimmed, choose Tools | Protection |
Unprotect Sheet.)
(3) Select just the cells you want to lock. For example, you can select the
first such cell, and hold down the command key while selecting the others.
(4) Choose Format | Cells | Protection, and select the Locked check box. OK.
(5) Choose Tools | Protection | Protect Sheet, protect the sheet for
Contents, and optionally enter a password. OK.

I need to protect from editing ONLY SOME cells in a sheet, not the full
sheet. How can I do? Thanks!!
