Hello, fine people

Is there a way to write the name of a cell or range of cells in a cel
and then refrence the cell with the name in a formula?

Example

Lets say I have a bunch of rows of data 1:4

Can i write 1 in a cell then refrence that sell in a formula to ge
this effect "=sum(1:1)
