cell selection

I am new to MAC. I am using a Powerbook G4 with MS Office for MAC.

Cell manipulation doesn't behave like it does in Windoze. I am trying
to select a range like B2:B26 and delete the entire selection. Excel
is only allowing me to delete the contents of one cell at a time.

How can I do this?

Thanks,

To delete just the contents:

Edit/Clear/Contents

or

Ctrl-B

Thanks! Ctrl-B is what I was hunting.

That brings up another question. How do I know which "ctrl" key will
work with a shortcut? For some commands the "command" key (the one
with the logo on it) works and for others I must use the "ctrl" key.

I am a longtime proponet of using the keyboard. I spent about 13 years
with UNIX before finally caving in to Windoze, and then I discovered
MAC.

Look at Help, "Keyboard Shortcuts".

Many of the traditional CTRL-<key> WinOffice shortcuts are, by default,
CMD-<key> on MacOffice. Note, however, that with MacOffice v.X and 2004,
commands are almost entirely customizable via Tools/Customize/Keyboard,
so you can reassign keyboard shortcuts at will.
