Cell Value Changing

M

Hi
I know this is probably a simple task, but I have a worksheet that has
the =today() function hidden in a cell and in another cell I have
=month(g1) hidden so that the current month shows in a cell.
I have used the formula=IF(G1="january",G6,"0") in 12 cells so that
when the month changes in g1 go to cell g6 and use that value. It is
then that value that I have a chart that shows each different value per
month.
eg january - 18
february - 20 etc etc.

What I need to do is to keep the value in january as 18 and keep the
value in february as 20 etc. With this simple formula I can get each
month to display the correct value, however when the month changes (eg
say April) the January month goes back to 0.

How could I write this in each cell (Jan to Dec) that keeps the value
in each month and does not change? (clear as mud?)

So I guess what I'm asking is to keep the values previously calculated
in previous months to the value that was applicable then and not to
change.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
