center pages

Gerrit

Hello, i center my pages with the code that i found on this discussion
group.

</head><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="2"
width="984"align="center"><tr><td>

It works great!

But I found a problem…

I used in one page in publisher, publishers option insert html code for a
contact form.

With no centering pages then it works fine.

But when I center the pages then it goes wrong, the contact form is dropped
at the top of the page

Ant move some parts of the page.

How can help me?

I am not sure I will be able to help you but do you have this page posted
somewhere we can see it? Give us the link if you do.

I am not sure, but have some more questions which might lead to an answer.

You are using a large image in the background that is 1038 pixels wide:

How wide is your page set up in Publisher? File > Page setup...what is the
width of your page?

If your pages are actually set up to be 1038 pixels or wider, then trying to
center them is probably a waste of time anyway. In most cases people who
view your pages will see them as left justified because their view ports
will be less than 1038 pixels, and probably have to scroll horizontally to
view the whole page.

Do you have this image on a Master Page? View > Master Page...is anything on
the master page? If so, then move it to main page.

Regardless of why the form is shifting, you need to compress the graphics.
http://www.vandruten.eu/index_bestanden/image1593.png is 2.3 MB which is
much too large. Your pages never did load correctly for me in IE7 because of
the size of the images.

pages (2003):

Run the Design Checker under Tools and see if that finds a problem.

Post back after you have compressed all the images and uploaded new pages,
and provide answers to my questions about page width and the use of a Master
Page.

the form is in a div that's absolutely positioned to "top"...not sure how
you would fix this in Publisher code though.
