CENTER TEXT VERTICALLY IN TEXT BOX?

I have windows xp, msft word 2002. when inserting a text box around
selected text, the text is evenly centered both vertically and
horizontally within the text box. however, when I access PRINT
PREVIEW, or even print the document, the text is no longer centered
vertically but appears in the upper portion of the text box.

How can I print so text is centered as desired?
