centering my drawingcontrol on an object

I have teh uniqueid of an obejct in a drawing that appears in my vb program
through the drawingcontrol. I want to be able to programatically put the
obejct in the middle of the drawing control and put it in "edit" mode so all
the user has to do is type in text in the object/shape.
How can I do this?
