Centering text between top and bottom of drawing objects

In powerpoint you can change the alignment within a text box can this
be done in Word??

Kerri,

Text within a text box behaves as it would within a
paragraph, but is now confined within the box. You can use
the box formatting options to postion the text. But, if
you are looking to center text within the confines of a
cell or box, you would be better off using a table and
using the options there for centering top to bottom and
left to right.
