Centering

Lately my word 2000 program has been centering the entire document every
time I elect to center a line of text. After I click on the undo button on
the tool bar everything goes back to normal and the line I wanted centered
stays centered. It's driving me nuts having to undo every time I want to
center something. I run Word 2002, but it did it in Word 2000 as well.
