Century Schoolbook Font

We had someone email a word document to the company. When 1 user opened the
document, it shows up within 2 pages. It opens up into 1 page for everyone
else. 95% of us use Office 2000. It was created with Century Schoolbook
font. I got to playing around thinking something was wrong with her font so
I found it on the internet and downloaded it, intending to install on her
machine if need be. Well, I don't have the font in my font list. So I went
ahead and installed it to see what it would do. Now the document opens up
into 2 pages for me too. It would seem that (I haven't checked yet) if you
have Century Schoolbook font installed, the document is actually 2 pages and
if you don't, Microsoft Office substitutes for a close font and the document
is 1 page. Would that seem to be the case or did I even make any sense?

Thanks.

You hit the nail right on the head. Different fonts have different spacing
and character widths. You can see this by typing a short sentence in Times
New Roman then changing the type to Arial and see it get longer.
