Certain icons (Save, Copy) are disappearing from Excel and Word.

The Save (disc) icon keeps disappearing from the toolbars but I can use CTRL
+ S function. Also, I am unable to Paste Special and the copy/paste icons
are disappearing and are greyed out on the drop down menus.
Any help greatly appreciated!
