Hi all,
I wrote a couple posts last year about using OTF fonts and Powerpoint
2004. Now that I installed Tiger (clean install) and Powerpoint 2004
w/SP2 clean install, I have issues again.
1.) I use Futura Standard Medium OTF (normal weight) and Futura
Standard Heavy OTF (Bold). The problem is that PP2004 - SP2 doesn't
seem to recognize the link between the normal and heavy weight anymore.
2.) I can "force" the font by selecting the normal weight to bold by
direclty selecting the font "Futura Standard Heavy" in the font menu on
my Mac. But the problem is that this method is incompatible with the
Windows versions of PP. As we all know, to be compatible with Windows
PP we must selected the normal font and select the bold style link.
3.) Even if usuing the style linking does not display correctly in
PP2004, it will display correctly if saved and then opened on with PP
Windows. Providing of course, that the fonts are installed on both
machines.
3.) I suspect this is an Office problem, because I have the same
problem in Word. I just posted here, because I use PP more...
Any ideas?!
Cheers, JP
PS. - For those of you not using SP2, it fixes a lot of things and
makes PP2004 quite useable and especially faster!
