I'm using Outlook 2007 with an Exchange Server in a business setting. I have
my reading pane set up so I can preview emails/read them instead of having to
open the email in its own window. However, we send and receive a lot of
signed emails. I discovered that signed emails take a long time to load in
the preview pane; Outlook nearly freezes up for ~5 seconds while loading the
message. Is there any way to fix this or speed it up? Why would
certificates cause this slow down? Is it checking the certificate from the
CA every time the message is opened or previewed? Thanks!
