cgapi.txt and cgapi_debug.txt

K

koen.bogaert

suddenly the following files are popping up on my desktop (mac OS X
10.3) and my server (Windows NT): cgapi.txt and cgapi_debug.txt.
There's no info on the net about these files but they should be Word
related. Deleting them is impossible, the keep coming back after using
Word 2004. Any clues? Anyone? Hello? Word, is it me you're looking for?

Hey Koen,

Are you using any 3rd party spelling/grammer dictionaries (Proofing Tools)
software for Word 2004?

Dear Jeffrey,

I did install the proofing tools from the CD for Dutch and French
spelling but it seemed as a Redmond home cooking part of the MS Office
suite and not 3rd party (yes, they do exist, people who pay for
software).

Hey Brotha,

Sorry for getting back to you so late. I had to do some investigation.

If you've been creating or editing documents in the Italian language and/or
had to check the the Spelling/Grammer of text in the Italian language read
on!

The issue you're encoutering is due to the Office 2004 "Italian Grammar"
proofing tools file installed on your machine. To correct the problem, you
need to replace that file with a newer version. Here are the steps:

1. You can find a newer version of the file on the Italian Test Drive
Version of Office 2004. Which you can download for free at:
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downlo...ffice2004.xml&secid=4&ssid=1&flgnosysreq=True

2. Quit your version of Office 2004
3. In your Office 2004 folder go to: Microsoft Office 2004: Shared
Applications: Proofing Tools
4. Located the "Italian Grammar" file. (Ignore the "Italian Grammar Dict"
file.)
5. Rename it "Italian Grammar_old" and move it out of the Office 2004
folder, such as to your desktop.
6. On the Downloaded Italian Test Drive version of the Office 2004 CD go to:
Office 2004 Copia di Valutazione:Microsoft Office 2004: Applicazioni
condivise: Strumenti di correzione:
7. Locate the File "Italian Grammar" and copy it into the "Proofing Tools"
folder on your copy of Office 2004.
8. Launch your version of Office 2004

Thanks
