First of all, the big space is for you to write additional details about
what you are trying to do and what you have tried.

Second, your terse details demonstrate a fundamental misunderstanding of
what Word is and what MLA style is.

MLA style dictates the arrangement of text on the page--e.g., whether titles
are italicized, how you organize citations, etc. You do this *within* Word.
You cannot change from one into the other.

Your version of Word may have come with an MLA template installed--it will
have some information on how to arrange the text. Look up "templates" in
Help to see how to access it. If you don't have one preinstalled, search
the web--there are sites out there that will offer you templates with some
MLA formatting, and sites that will tell you what MLA formatting requires.
