Change cell which is the spreadsheet End

If I use Ctrl End after deleting collumns I jump to the old end of data not
the current one; how can I fix this ?

Try this:
Generally, after deleting the extra rows/columns, you must save the
workbook. Depending on your version of Excel....you may need to
Save/Close/Re-open.

Does that help?

Sometimes even that didn't work for me, plus being a time-consuming pain.
I finally found that doing a save-as to itself fixes the problem.

Hi Patricia,
Nice one, I don't think I've heard that before. But I suspect it would be
version dependent (works for me in Excel 2002)..

File, Save As -- Appeared to work for me as well, and interestingly the
date created in the directory remains the same. The File, Save As trick would
be preferable to fixing just one sheet as it would fix all of the sheets.

I've been suggesting the macro at contextures.com by Debra Dalgleish
which is noted may not work for merged cells
Why do my scrollbars go to row 500 -- my data ends in cell E50?,

I have Excel 2002 now, so things may be a bit different that what I was
used to with Excel 2000. The need to close after the save and to reopen
was needed in Excel 95. In Excel 2000 if you used other tricks to delete the
rows and columns you didn't need to save to see the changes, but you would
of course have to save sooner or later to make the fix permanent.

I have Excel 2003. As you say, the file/ save-as might not fix the problem
for all versions of Excel. I had been doing an edit-delete for the extra
rows, but I was experimenting before I put my answer to the world, and that
doesn't even seem to be necessary.
Thanks for the referral to Debra Dalgleish's page. It has a lot of helpful
hints.

Hi Patricia,
Thanks for telling us you were using 2003, it would be nice to hear from others if your
"File, Save As" works in versions earlier than Excel 2002 (which I tried) as well
to solve lastcell problem..
