Have you Quit & restarted Excel since changing your System settings?

What are your specific version #s of Office & Tiger?

I have this same problem. I have Mac OS 10.4.9, and Microsoft Office v. X, 2004. My international preferences are set to use periods as the decimal character, but Excel will only recognize commas.

I didn't have to restart Excel, since my International preference for number formats were always correct.

Well, I think you DO have to restart Excel. What nationality is Excel? What
is the Operating system? Have all the latest updates to both been applied?
(I don't think so because the OS is at 10.4.11)

Hi everyone, i have the same problem. I have the comma as decimal separator instead of the period. I tried switching on the international pane but didnt solve the problem. I already shutdown excel but didnt work. Im using Leopard 10.5.5 and Excel 2004 for MAC 11.5.1

Does anyone have an idea on how to solve it?
