Hi,

How do you delete project files that you don't want in MS-Project Server
2003? 2007?

Secondly, how do you do re-name files in Project Server?

Well, which version of the software are you using? 2002, 2003, or 2007? I
think you need to tell us before we waste a lot of time trying to give you
directions for a software version you are not using. I'm still waiting for
you to tell me on your question about how to create a master project. If
you want us to help you, you need to help us as well. Let us know.

Hi Gary,

Sure. Sorry about that. It's just that I was in the urge for a reply and
probably didn't get the first post's reply on time.

Sorry again.

Hi,

I'm using 2003 Project Server. How do I delete unwanted project files from
there?

And I still am stuck in creating a master project plan when I explained you
about the errors. Who do I need to talk to about it? My system admins?

Hope to hear from you. Thanks!

Yes, you definitely need to talk to your Project Server administrator. It
sounds like he/she has enabled users to publish non-enterprise projects.
This needs to be disabled, and then he/she needs to delete the
non-enterprise published projects from the Project Server database. And
then YOU need to import your non-enterprise projects, saved probably as .mpp
files on your hard drive, into the Project Server database using Tools -
Enterprise Options - Import Project to Enterprise. And then, once all of
this is completed, you can create a master project. BUT, please tell your
Project Server administrator NOT to enable the permission that allows users
to publish master projects. If enabled, that option will cause your users
lots of heartache, as it will DOUBLE the task assignments on each users View
My Tasks page. It sounds like your people have a lot of work to do. You
are definitely not using Project Server 2003 correctly. Hope this helps.
