Change dictionary from Spanish to English GLOBALLY

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Power PC I have a Spanish presentation which has been translated to English. Only problem is I cannot get the dictionary to change to English without doing it page by page (using the tools/language function). So basically the entire presentation is underlined in red because the Spanish dictionary is applied to the English version. This presentation is 100 pages long and I don't want to have to do it page by page. Is there a way to GLOBALLY change each page? Please help!

Command+A to Select All, then Tools> Language - English US/UK/AUS of your
choice.

Alternatively: If the document has been properly formatted using Styles you
can redefine the Styles to include the appropriate Language formatting.

Sorry - Please disregard the previous reply... I still had my Word hat on &
the allusions to "page by page" sucked me right in 8>} In PPT the only
suggestion I can offer is to apply the correct Language formatting to the
placeholders in the Master Slides. I believe that should work for content in
Title, Sub-Title & Content Placeholders but you'll still have to hunt down &
fix any Text Boxes & shapes that contain text.

I've tried that. When I select all and go to Tools/Language the Language option is grayed out (that is, you can't select it). If I do it slide by slide it works, but I can't figure out how to do it GLOBALLY. Other ideas? Thanks.

That doesn't work either Bob. Tried that too. The only way I can seem to get rid of the red underlines under literally almost every word is to do it slide by slide. Ugh. Frustrating. Other suggestions?

I'm honestly not sure. I imagine the Language format isn't taking from the
change to the Master since the slides already exist. Perhaps you could
create a duplicate master formatted for English then apply that. As long as
you work in a copy of the file it might be worth a shot.

Wow. Nothing is working. I've even tried to create a new PPT from scratch and copy and paste one slide at a time into the new file - same result. All underlined as if it's Spanish. Guess the only work around is to do it slide by slide? Sigh.

If you have access to Windows PPT 2007, post the same problem in the
Public.PowerPoint group; even better, post the problem and put a sample
file someplace on the web where people can download it.

Someone may be able to cook you up a macro to run on the file, one
that'll do all the handwork in a matter of seconds.

It'd have to be done on the windows side since Mac PPT 2008 doesn't
support macros. Though someone good with Applescript might be able to
make the magic happen for you on the Mac side.
