I am administering one Small Business Server 2003 with the primary function
of an Exchange Server.
My current issue I am trying to resolve is that I initially setup the AD
Domain to be xx.local and I now need to change it to the users current
domain name (xxxxxxx.com) used for their POP email and website.
The users are connecting with mixed clients (Enourage 2004 and Outlook
2003).
I have an ongoing issue where the Outlook client can send to another using
the pop mail account, but the Entourage client has no way to choose which
Inbox to forward to, the POP or the Exchange.
The Entourage user must drag the appt. to the Exchange calendar in order to
have it show up on shared calendars.
All that being said, the replies and updates to meeting requests by the
Entourage client end up getting bounced back as the xx.local is the reply
address sent.
I thought that I could get around at least the bouncebacks by changing the
Exchange domain name to the xxxxxxx.xom domain name and it would take care
of the bouncebacks.
I relize it can be very disruptive to the current environment along with a
chance of hosing the server so does anyone have any hints as to which way to
go with this?
Even if I could change the domain name I still may have an issue with
Entourage that the meeting requests amy still need to be manually dragged to
the correct calendar. Does anyone know if rules that are set for a user via
Outlook can be applied on the Entouarge client?
thanks in advance,
tom
