Change everybody's preview pane setting to mark as read

I keep getting read receipts which say "messages was
deleted without being read" because some people in my
organisation use the preview pane.

The procedure to turn in the option which will "mark items
as read when viewed using preview pane" will solve all
this.

My question is :

Is there a way to turn this "mark as read..." setting on
globally for every Outlook user in my organisation?

(I've seen a command line switch the will take away the
preview pane altogether but I don't want to do that, maybe
something similar exists that will solve my problem)

Not that I know of - I prefer to be able to read messages from nosy
co-workers in the preview pane and then turn the pane off and delete the
message. I especially enjoy having them rush to my desk to demand why I
deleted their mail without reading. I then demand to know who made them the
manager of my time.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Red asked:
