Visio 2003- I cannot for the life of me, figure out a way to make the text
read from top to bottom, not left to right. Where is this feature? Should
look like this:
L
I
K
E

T
H
I
S

Any ideas? Thank you!

Menu Window --> Show Shape Sheet

Menu --> Insert --> Section
tick 'Text Transform'
Scroll down to that section
Set the TxtWidth cell to something like 2mm

I'm sure there's a formula but ...

Use text block tool and narrow vertical width of text container shape until
all text flows to vertical as you showed in your example. If text string too
long, make the thin column taller to contain all the text...i.e. a tall, one
character wide, text box.

Thank you for your suggestions, however I found a much easier, softer way:

1. Select the shape.
2. Click the Vertical Text tool

The shapes text rotates 90 degress clockwise and appears in a vertical font.

NOTE: To display Vertical Text tool, on the Tools menu, click Options, click
Regional tab, and in the Vertical text list, click Show.
