Change hours to zero after the timesheet has been imported to thetask

I had a timesheet which was submitted as 8 hrs for a task for a day
and it was also imported into the task.

Later when the user recalled it changed it such that he deleted time
for it and put time for another task. Then the user imported it back
into the task.

But now the task still showed the time as 8 hours for the task for
that day.

The we repeated the process for various hours and saw that if we
changed the time worked to 0.001, 1, 2, 3 it would update the task
and the project, but would'nt do it for a 0

Is there a way around this.
