Change in paste behaviout between Publisher 2000 and 2002-

I also have the same problem. I use publisher to print ID cards and
every day paste about 100 images from a graphics program into the same
sized text box in Publisher.

With all versions of Publisher up to and including 2000 the pasted
image would resize itself to the text frame. This being what I need.

With Publisher 2002 onwards the pasted image pastes itself into a new
frame on top of the existing image and much larger. I then have to
delete the existing image and resize the new image, which takes much
much longer than using Publisher 2000.

If Microsoft provided an option somewhere to choose how the paste
command works it would be great. Changing the behaviour between
versions as they have done is not great at all.

As it is I am having to stick with Publisher 2000 until someone at
Microsoft fixes this!

My experience is you draw an empty frame about the size you want and paste the
image; when you copy the next image and paste it will replace the previous
picture. The frame may adjust some, but not much.

If you select the picture frame, edit, paste special, it will replace the
picture.

If you copy/paste a picture that is within your Publisher document, it will not
replace the picture, only if you "paste special." Only pictures copied from a
remote file will replace the picture in the selected frame. You can right-click
the picture, click change picture and browse to the image.

Kind of a muddy explanation...
