change jpeg doc. to word doc.

i scanned a resume and have a jpeg file how can i change it to a word doc. i
am using microsoft office 2000?

A jpeg is a picture file, you cannot directly convert from jpeg to word (at
least I don't know of a method).

However, with the scanner software, there should be some OCR software
(Optical Character Recognition) this reads what looks like text and
translates it into a format which can be saved to Word. However, non of the
formats will be saved and you will have to check for errors from the OCR
Software. You may have to convert the jpeg to another format for the OCR
Software (Adobe .pdf perhaps)
