change number format

Jim

Hi,

I have a column with figures in the 123,45 format and want to change it to
123.45. How do I do this?
Excel2007.
Thank you very much.

The characters used for number formatting are determined by your Windows
Regional Settings, so you'd have to change them there.

I know, and thanks, but I don't want to cahnge the regional settings. I
have imported a file with financial data and I have somehow to convert this
from comma format to dot format. That must be possible. Isn't there a way by
edting the data as text?

What if you select the entire column (or columns) containing them and then
Edit/ReplaceAll the comma with a dot?

I thought I tried that and it did not work-- but now it does work.
