Change of tabledef field attributes

Hi,

I want to use VBA code to change a table field attribute of an external
database (opened by Opendatabase with exclusive option). Actually, I want to
change an Autonumber to a Long. But I get Invaild operation error message
(error code 3219).

Has anyone any idea how to get around the problem? Or is it a problem?
